Whether in the flat foothills of the Alps around the numerous lakes, moderately in some of the rustic mountain huts that invite you to linger over a hearty snack or, for the very sporty, try out rock climbing. The Allgäu has the right requirements for everyone.

MOUNTAIN RAILWAYS

The various mountain railways take you quickly and easily to the higher hiking areas and are the gateway to Bavaria's largest nature reserve, the "Ammergebirge".

Whether you're a summiteer or a leisurely hiker, the cable cars offer you a wide range of options. The beauties of nature and sporting leisure activities such as hang gliding and paragliding around the Tegelberg, Breitenberg & Buchenberg are just a stone's throw away.

Alpin huts

Numerous huts and alps offer the opportunity to stop off after an alpine hike or a sporty mountain bike tour through idyllic valleys. In addition to the great view from the mountain peak, a rustic hut stop with a hearty snack, fresh mountain air and the mountain panorama is the best reward.

BLECKENAU

The former hunting lodge of King Ludwig II is located in a beautiful, untouched landscape behind the fairytale Neuschwanstein Castle.

The Jägerhütte is located at an altitude of 1,400 meters in the idyllic Ammergebierge nature reserve. It only invites you to have a snack in summer.

TEGELBERGHAUS

The former royal hunting lodge was built by Maximilian II in 1835. The mountain hut on Tegelberg is located at 1,707 meters above sea level and also offers overnight stays.
